Ghost Ghost

My Button Collection

A festive Question Time, today I’m sending the final batch of kickstarter rewards (the one pictured above is for the wonderful Natazilla). 113 drawings later I can say that I really underestimated the whole thing, particularly shipping costs. Probably lost a million. Oh well. Questions!

Anonymous asked you:
still can’t find copies of the new yorker anywhere. i hope my library doesn’t mind me ripping out your pictures.

Well, really.. To be honest, I can’t find it myself. With all the bookstores closed I have no idea where to buy a copy. Walgreenses only carry Entertainment Gestapo ((c) Dan Clowes) and such. I’m going to the library today and if I catch you ripping pages out of the New Yorker (or any other venerable publication) I’ll spank your face again, this time in public.

Anonymous asked you:
amazing pics! do you make your works in Photoshop or illustrator?

Brush/nib & ink on paper, I only color in Photoshop. I can use Illustrator, but it makes everything too perfect.

Anonymous asked you:
Why do I hate everyone?

Avoiding people helps.

rosalis asked you:
make more moodymales !pleaseee!

Maybe next season.

beccaandthebox asked you:
Hey, I was wondering, how do you adjust the colours of your line work? It always looks good and I’ve yet to figure out how to do it.

Well, there’s no usual routine, most of the time I fill in flats, then go mixing them and adjusting. Some of it is intuitive, some is calculated. It takes hours and hours, so I put on an audio book and lock myself indoors for the day. What am I doing with my life..

Anonymous asked you:
Besides Bukowski, what other acclaimed authors you wouldn’t read/don’t like?

Hemingway and all the manly man writers. Books with titles in huge letters and some exploding dragon (tattoo) on the background.

photohunter asked you:
what muni line do you think is best, to find interesting subjects for sketching?

I was taking 21 for a long while after work (while I had a job), it was great. Looks of tired resignation, dead eyes, etc. I’ve been taking 38 to Trader Joe’s lately, it’s pure hell, I want to take a shower even when I see that bus passing by. Bart is usually best and it doesn’t shake as much, but it doesn’t go anywhere. This city…

dibujardormirydibujar asked you:
i love youre art!! and you seem to be a very sensitive person ^^ with all respect. So whats your inpiration ?

Depression, other people’s art/books, loneliness, etc.
